Silk Fusion, also known as Silk Paper, is an exciting new creative process.
This unique method bonds silk fibres into a lustrous kind of "felt" which can be gossamer and transparent or thick and opaque as leather. Because the fibres are unspun, silk's rich lustre and texture are captured.
Silk fusion is a perfect canvas for hand or machine stitching, printing, stamping, origami, quilting, jewellery, wearable art, book coverings, collage and on and on. excerpt from: https://www.treenwaysilks.com/fusion.php
Love this medium.....Results of my workshop with Donna Crispin at the Paper Arts Festival in Newport, Oregon. It was blast and oh boy....do I have ideas for these results!!!!

This is a new way I tried today with the wool. I have soooo much odds and ends....I grabbed a bunch and laid it out randomly, then added some silk and felted the whole thing and designed the hat. I was shooting for the inside to be the outside but it was not meant to be so the inside peaks out in places and is a perfect accent to the magnificent color blend I achieved. I am a Happy Wildwoman

India cotton gauze nuno felted and embellished with sari silk ribbon.... It slips over the head as a poncho....or over the hips as a short wrap for leggings......The waistband has ties to adjust larger or smaller.....A Rosiewildwoman original creation.....
The Scarf.....carded merino wool nuno felted on silk chiffon. I must have draped this a million times before I took the picture. EAch time....I hated it.....It is short, that's ok, it is lighter than any work I have done....Thank is GREAT......it felted tightly.... nice.....but no how, no way could I get it to lay the way I wanted it to....In exasperation.....I twisted and turned it and pinned it with a custom pin I felted and plopped it on my head.....

Will be posting a video of Rosiewildwoman doing the happy dance.....I finally understand laying the wool down fine and then the material on top in layers, adding tencel, adding bamboo, adding the kitchen sink and then felting into incredible thin texture......I see soooooooo many possibilities with this, hats, scarves, wraps, vests, ponchos, wall hangings.......and the list goes on......
